IDS


Objectives:
Interface Data Systems (IDS), a Phoenix-based contract manufacturer for the electronics industry, wanted to identify and prioritize market segments, and to acquire data to drive three-year sales forecasts.

Solution:
Watermark Group conducted industry and competitive analysis to assess the Client’s competitive and highly technical landscape in terms of stakeholders and products. We also conducted market segmentation to identify and prioritize the top five markets for IDS products and services.



Results:
Watermark Group’s efforts helped the Client reclassify and prioritize its most profitable customer segments, and to reorganize the company’s operations accordingly.

Added Value:
Watermark Group made several key strategy recommendations involving product migration and competitor acquisitions. Beyond the priority target markets covered under the project scope, we identified and prioritized a second tier of three additional target markets for the Client to consider longer term. Also beyond the scope of the project, we recommended several strategic, high-visibility public relations initiatives to further position the Client competitively, and we participated in high-level strategy sessions at the company’s headquarters.
